Same with most nights ever since I became single again, I was hanging on on the couch with my Mom when my Dad came downstairs, went to the couch, gently rub my Mom’s hair and asked her “You want your milk yet?”.
I don’t know when it started, but he asks her this every night. He also does the same thing with her supplement pills, he brings her the pills every morning with a glass of water and makes sure she takes it before he takes the empty glass and puts it away.
If this is not Love I don’t know what is.
My parents have been married for 46 years. Their marriage was not always rosy but they perservering through it all.
Their marriage was my dream and life goal. A dream that was shattered by the people closest to me.
But, there is one thing I learned from them that will keep me moving: Perseverance.
